Sick!

Well, the flu is making the rounds in our house. It started with Jared on Sunday. He had to leave the building halfway through the church service. Then last night Katie woke me up at two because she was losing her lunch. In the morning she told me that she had thrown up five more times, starting at twelve that night. Needless to say, she didn't go to school today. Any ways, inspiration struck and so I grabbed some paper and a pencil and quickly jotted down a poem before leaving for school.

Here it is:

"The germs are coming! The germs are coming!"
Cried Katie one Monday night,
"Jared's got it, and Hendrik's got it,
And I think I just might!"
She went to bed at eight 'o clock, and tossed and turned 'till nine,
And till the stroke of midnight, Katie was just fine...
But then a bucket brigade they formed, For Katie, she had caught it,
And joined, to make a threesome, the two that had got it.

Hope you enjoyed!

By the way, I have been having some complaints about not posting often enough. I will post as often as I have some thing to post. Some times I will have three posts in a week, sometimes three in a month, some times none in a month. As soon as I have reading material I feel comfortable sharing, I will post it, I promise.

See ya!

I wasn't able to click "vote" in your poll... apparently I need to be signed into something more than just blogger!
Hope the rest of you don't get sick. We've been okay here, except Jasper had the sore throat and headache.

  3. Great poem, Leah! I feel I might be coming down with it now, so you'll have to write a poem for me, maybe?

Don't worry about not posting often enough -- Post when you can. We enjoy it when you do! No pressure!

  5. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade, they say. Well, when life gives you germs, I guess you make poetry!

  6. Sorry to hear you're all taking turns being sick. That's really sick! But great little poem Leah! I'm amazed at the things that inspire you -- to write poems -- or to sketch a horse. You don't even wait for someone to ask, you just do!! Keep it up! (But keep your 'cookies' IN!) Love, Grandma
